Center for Immigrant Progress (CIP) is an immigrant-led organization in Lake County, IL, dedicated to dismantling barriers that immigrant families face in health, education, legal access, and civic life.

With an increase in Immigration arrests and detention in the Chicagoland area, CIP has mobilized resources to support families in Lake County facing urgent immigration issues and those wanting more clarity on their immigration circumstances.

  • We all have rights- no matter our immigration status, country of origin, or age. Know your rights.

  • Right to Refuse Entry: Immigration agents cannot enter your home, vehicle, nor place of employment without a Judicial Order signed by a judge.

  • It's also important to speak to your children about their rights and have an emergency family plan.

  • CIP offers Free Immigration Legal consultations for any community member who wants to know more about their options .

  • Local Law enforcement in Illinois cannot legally collaborate with Federal Immigration Agents. Know the difference.
